ACE FREHLEY WINNER OF THE POLL!

Perhaps not that surprising, but our guitar hero Ace Frehley is the winner of the poll.

The final results are the following:

Ace Frehley: 39,3%
Paul Stanley: 20,2%
Peter Criss: 12,9%
Gene Simmons: 11,0%
Eric Carr: 5,5%
Eric Singer: 3,7%
Vinnie Vincent: 2,4%
Mark St. John: 1,9%
Tommy Thayer: 1,9%
Bruce Kulick: 1,2%

Ace as the winner and Paul as the runner-up probably doesn’t come as a suprirse. But it’s interesting to see that Peter Criss is at the third place and Gene not higher than number four.
And it’s of course nice to see that all current and former members have got votes.

Thanks to everyone who voted!

Gene Leaves A Message For Canadian Troops

Gene Simmons has left a message for the Canadian soldiers. This was done after a press conference that was held at the Rexall Edmonton Indy. Gene's words were the following:

"Hi guys, it's Gene Simmons. We know you're in Afghanistan, we know it's a tough one, I just want you to know from my heart we love you. I like the fact that there's a bit of civility when the Canadian flag goes up and your national anthem is sung, everybody quietens down a bit. You don't have to salute, no one's forcing you to do anything, but just for a few minutes you shut your mouth and give it the respect it demands. I think that's part of our lives that's been tossed aside. Culture has become cynical and we don't even respect what we should."

Kiss Gets Praised By Judas Priest

Judas Priest guitar player Glenn Tipton has written a message on the official Judas Priest website where he praises Kiss:

"We've played together with so many great bands on this European leg — old friends like DEF LEPPARD, WHITESNAKE and MOTĂ–RHEAD. New bands such as AIRBOURNE — great lads from Australia — and it was good to see KISS again at the the Download Festival in the UK — we toured with them in the early days in the U.S. and unlike many other bands who gave us very little stage or lights, KISS were generous and helped us out which we appreciated in those days!

And as always in Germany, the censored logo is used.

Kiss Songs Featured In Swedish Mainstream Show

The cheesy Swedish mainstream artist Robert Wells recently had the opening show for his traditional annual summer tour of Sweden called "Rhapsody In Rock". This package tour contains some of the biggest names in Swedish mainstream music. This year the last number of the main set is - believe it or not - a Kiss medley. The female vocalists Charlotte Perelli, Sofia Källgren and LaGaylia Frazier are doing I Was Made For Loving You, Detroit Rock City, Rock N Roll All Nite, God Gave Rock N Roll To You and Heaven's On Fire together with Robert Wells and the orchestra. Totally tacky and cheesy but still kind of interesting that Kiss are featured in a mainstream situation like this. The tour will continue over Sweden all summer.

Funny Picture

I don’t know who took this photo and I don’t like just stealing other people’s photos from the internet. But this picture is so hilarious that I need to share it. It shows Tommy Thayer right before the show at the Download Festival in England when he goes for a quick visit to the bathroom…

A great addition to the KISS collection!

Kiss To South America?

Internet rumor says that Kiss are confirmed for the headlining spot at Pepsi Music Festival in Argentina in September. This is just a rumor so I can’t confirm it but it would make sense for Kiss to look into South America in the fall. Another rumor has it that Kiss will do a large Asian tour in late 2008 or early 2009. Again, just rumors…
